NFL Betting – Brees, Saints Still Far Away From An Extension

Posted September 8, 2011 – 7:52 pm in: Sportsbooks

The New Orleans Saints will open the 2011-12 NFL betting lines season against the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers on Thursday night, but regardless of how they perform in that game, there will still be a pressing question mark lingering over the team this season. The Saints will not have a new contract for their franchise quarterback Drew Brees before the start of the season, as both sides remain far apart on a new deal. Brees has admitted that his agent is in talks with the club but that they are not any closer to getting a long-term extension done, and given the way that the Pro Bowl quarterback has helped turn the franchise around, that has to be somewhat shocking.

Before Brees joined the Saints back in 2006, the Saints had a .403 all-time winning percentage, with just a single sports betting playoff win. New Orleans had never witnessed a quarterback throw for 4,000 yards in their own jersey, and the team had never led the league in offense. That all changed with the arrival of Brees however, as the Saints’ win percentage has spiked to .613 since he joined the team, with four playoff wins, five 4,000 yard seasons, and of course most importantly, a Super Bowl victory in 2009. Brees and the Saints have led the NFL in offense in three of his four seasons, and he has become a beloved figure in and around the fishing community. Brees has emerged as a leader and a true character person, and it has to be a surprise that he and the team are still far apart on a new deal.

Online Sports Betting – Most Sports Books Now Offer Casino Options

Posted August 25, 2011 – 7:31 pm in: Sports News

The best part about the new sports betting destinations online is the ability to leave the sports book and head to the casino, all through the same destination. The majority of the new sports books now offer an online casino option for players looking to take a break from the sports aspect of the game and have a little fun making cash somewhere else, and it makes it both fun and easy to play.

While most online casino plays offer advanced options, the majority have the basic games such as blackjack, poker, and roulette. Unlike signing up with some of the other casino sites on the internet, these options are much safer and with the background provided by the sports side of the book players don’t have to be afraid to try it out knowing that their winnings are safe. There are a ton of options available from there with most sites offering pre-set profiles to go on and play, and a good amount of them even offer bonuses and promotions for first-time players in order for them to have the best experience possible. With a ton of free money to play and win with it makes sense to take advantage of the casino aspect that sports books now offer, and that makes it that much more interesting for players that have taken their games online.

NFL Betting – New-Look Saints Debut Against 49ers In Preseason Action Friday

Posted August 11, 2011 – 7:22 pm in: Sportsbooks

For the past four NFL betting lines seasons, the New Orleans Saints have ranked among the most explosive teams in football with an offense led by head coach Sean Payton and franchise quarterback Drew Brees that has consistently ranked near the top of the NFL. There is little doubt with that tandem back again for another year in 2011 that the Saints will march again, but the outlook for this season could be much different down in New Orleans. With the arrival of running back Mark Ingram from Alabama and the dismissal of former first round pick Reggie Bush, it appears as though the Saints are looking to establish a power-running game. That is something to look for on Friday night, as New Orleans opens its preseason against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead.

The action begins on Friday with the Cincinnati Bengals taking on the Detroit Lions at Ford Field, with injuries ravaging the host team in what appeared to be a very optimistic year. The Lions took steps forward a year ago and seemed primed for the postseason with a couple of key additions, but the sports betting loss of defensive tackle Nick Fairley and another key running back in Leshoure early on have tempered expectations. Also Friday night, Bush and the Miami Dolphins will take on the Atlanta Falcons in Georgia, while the defending AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers will make the trip to Landover to clash with Rex Grossman and the Washington Redskins.

MLB Betting – Look For Yankees To Close Series Against Orioles On A High Note

Posted July 28, 2011 – 7:37 pm in: Sports News

The New York Yankees have largely been able to keep pace with the Boston Red Sox for first place in the American East over the past couple of weeks, which has had to do in most part with the fact that they have played two of the league’s worst teams in the Seattle Mariners and Baltimore Orioles in consecutive series’. The Yankees will look to capitalize on their weekend sports betting series against the AL East basement dwellers, including wrapping up the three-game set on Sunday in front of the hometown fans at Yankees’ Stadium.

Baltimore Orioles @ New York Yankees

Sunday, 1:05 PM ET

Sunday’s matinee game will feature New York’s Freddy Garcia against Jake Arrieta for Baltimore, and it should be a pretty good battle with the spotlight on the veteran pitcher who has kept his stuff together for most of this season. Garcia is still prone to have lapses at different points, but for the most part the 35-year old has kept it together while climbing to 9-7 with a 3.23 ERA. The Orioles haven’t had nearly as much success with their staff this MLB betting season, although Arrieta has managed to get to 10 wins despite an awful 5.12 ERA. The 25-year old hasn’t allowed less than three earned runs in a start since early June, and could be in trouble if he struggles early against one of the most talented lineups in the league.

Online Casino Betting – Keeping It Simply Is The Key To The Craps Table

Posted July 14, 2011 – 8:21 pm in: Sports News

The simplest strategy behind winning money when it comes to craps is to stay away from the excitement. While it may be fun and exhilarating to place all kinds of exotic bets around the board, the fact remains that it is also very difficult to win money when you constantly stay on the longest odds. If online casino games were made to consistently give out easy money like that in the first place, then they wouldn’t even exist.

The best way to bet on sports is to make sure that you pay attention to the best odds, even if it is going to take a little bit longer to make some money. Pay attention to the red and black or number categories to find the spots with the best shot to win, and capitalize on them when they go dry. For example, although there is no scientific strategy that guarantees a specific color will come up, the odds are that if there are five straight blacks the next color will be red simply because with even odds of either color coming up on every spin it eventually should alternate. While it may not come up on the first spin, consider sticking with a color and starting small, doubling up on losses to make sure that you don’t leave with a deficit. Don’t start to early or you could get caught, and pay attention to your bankroll to remember that there is no guarantee that you will have enough to keep doubling up. The sports betting odds will favor a couple of easy wins, and although the payout will be considerably less it sure beats ending up in the negative.

NFL Baseball – League, Players Working To Make Sure Training Camp Is Not Affected

Posted June 30, 2011 – 10:42 pm in: Sportsbooks

The National Football League lockout could come to an end in the next couple of weeks, with the prospect that not a single preseason game or training camp is not affected. While this is now the longest lockout in the history of the sport, it hasn’t had a direct effect on a loss of games for the coming season, with the league and players now working around the betting clock to make sure that a deal gets done in time.

The fact that league commissioner Roger Goodell and players association head DeMaurice Smith were both on hand at the rookie symposium convention to address the new players is something that has provided a good amount of optimism that the two sides are close to a deal. That is something that would have been unheard of when the NFLPA decertified over a month ago, but with the two sides holding secret meetings around the country this past couple of weeks they have been able to make significant progress. Those meetings will continue this week at unknown locations as they try to stay out of the media spotlight and hammer out the framework for a deal, with the goal being to at least provide the team’s with a week-long free agency period to get the over 200 sports betting bonus players currently without a contract signed to a deal before a training camp gets underway in the next couple of weeks.

Online Sports Betting – Teaser Bets The Perfect Option For Players Looking For Edge

Posted June 17, 2011 – 1:31 am in: Sportsbook Reviews

While the majority of online sports betting action comes with picking winners and losers, there is another option in the football and basketball world that is used just as often by sports fans looking for a little bit of a handicap to increase their odds of winning. While it increases the amount of juice on a potential loss, there is a much greater chance that a teaser will come through with those extra points taken making the difference in spreads that are often so close in both sports.

Teasers are simple to learn and readily available, and the best part is that they can be taken either way with the favorite or the underdog. Where the spread is only available to be wagered on for the favorite, and the points go one way, a teaser can handicap those spreads in whichever sports betting bonus way that the player wants it to. For example, if the New England Patriots are favored by 13.5 against the Buffalo Bills, teasers of five, six, or seven points can be used on either side. So if the seven-point teaser is selected, then that number is added to the total for whatever side the players wants. If they selected the Patriots, then the spread will change from 13.5 down to 6.5, and New England will only have to win by seven to win the wager. If they wager on Buffalo, then the Bills only have to stay within 20 for the play to be a win. It’s a simple option, and if the line is too close to call it could be a good choice for those that want to increase their odds of winning.

BetEd Review

Posted February 19, 2011 – 6:36 am in: Sportsbook Reviews

For the last eight years, BetEd has grown from a small online betting site to one of the most popular sportsbooks amongst the sports gambling crowd. Mostly known in the betting online world as a humble shop for recreational and new bettors, BetEd has a ton of great things for everyone to enjoy. Here is a guide on why BetEd is the sportsbook for you.

Who Bets Here – BetEd is strictly a sportsbook for the casual and recreational betting enthusiasts. They aren’t worried about setting up early lines, they don’t have the highest limits, but what they do have is an overall enjoyable experience.

Aside from offering the ever classic top four North American sports, BetEd also offers betting lines on the European sporting scene, with lines on soccer, cricket and rugby. However, if you are a niche bettor, you will enjoy the lines for MMA, boxing and NASCAR.

BetEd specialty however is the prop betting section. For instance, in 2009 they were the first sportsbook to come out with lines on where current Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback Michael Vick would sign after being reinstated by the NFL. As well, similar to juggernaut Bodog, BetEd offers lines on the various award shows, political campaigns, and most importantly the weather.

Customer Service – Over the last couple of years, BetEd has improved its customer service area dramatically. They offer the 24 hour a day seven day a week year round approach to customer service. However, BetEd only offers service via telephone and through e-mail. Now while most of their competition offers help through a live chat, chances are you will be using the phone or e-mail to seek assistance for your inquiries.

What’s more, it should be noted that in 2009 the BetEd server crashed and since then they have been under heavy criticism by our peers. Yet in the two years since that incident, BetEd has improved dramatically.

BetPhoenix Review

Posted February 12, 2011 – 10:53 am in: Sportsbook Reviews

BetPhoenix is one of the newest online sportsbooks in the sports betting industry as it has only been around for five years. In an industry where it is guilty until proven innocent, most new online betting sites tend to crumble under the heavy expectations of the rest of the industry. However, BetPhoenix is just the opposite, at five years old, the sportsbook already has dreams of aspiring to be the Google of the sports gambling industry. Meaning to say, the site provides such a fresh popular outlook that it receives as much action as some of the big shooters in the business.

Since BetPhoenix models itself on becoming the Google of the sports betting industry, it means that online gambling workers can expect to be employed by a sportsbook that treats them with a lot of respect. BetPhoenix is geared towards providing each customer with a personalized package both for setting up an account and giving them the best overall experience. As a result of this philosophy, BetPhoenix needs their staff to enjoy working for the sportsbook as much as the customer enjoys betting with it.

BetPhoenix is based out of San Jose, Costa Rica a home for many of the sports gambling juggernauts. As opposed to buying a small office building with very few workers, BetPhoenix owners, bought and built a giant office building that looks more like a hotel then an office building. What’s more, the staff at BetPhoenix has the opportunity to eat in many different restaurants within the sportsbook headquarters and work out in a state of the art gym.

Essentially what we are getting at is that if BetPhoenix provides their staff with the best possible work place settings, you can just imagine how they treat their clients. BetPhoenix website is one of the more modern sites in the industry. As well, they use the old school approach of low juice and high bonus, meaning that the clientele base is a cross section between sharp and experienced bettors as well as the casual and first time crowd. Whether you bet hourly or a weekly, BetPhoenix staff gives you the same sort of attention, as all customers are extremely valued.

Bet365 Review

Posted January 17, 2011 – 5:57 am in: Sportsbook Reviews

Bet365 is one of the oldest and most legendary online sportsbooks in the industry. Starting in 1974 and still going strong in the sports betting world today, Bet365 is owned by Peter Coates, owner of British soccer club Stoke City. Throughout its near 37 year of existence, Bet365 not only has provided its clientele with the best wagering options, but it has also bought and saved several smaller sportsbooks.

For instance, a few years ago, Bet365 came to the aid of fellow British heavyweight sportsbook Bowmans, which had fallen on hard times. In the few years since the merger, Bowmans customers have once again been able to wager in their accounts with the storied book. However, it should be noted, that because Bowmans is a subsidy of Bet365, their betting options window links directly to the Bet365 page. What this means, is that if you have an account with Bowmans you automatically have an account with Bet365.

Betting Options – At Bet365, they literally have every sport you could hope to bet upon. Their betting list is so large, that they have several pages dedicated to the types of bets you would want to make. For instance, bettors can wager on daily lines, prop bets and even live play betting.

For live play betting, one of the interesting features is that you can take one team in a match at a certain price before the game starts, and then if that team is losing, you can switch to the other team during the game with the original price. At Bet365, you the bettor have all the control on the game they are wagering on.

Customer Service – Bet365 customer service is exceptional, as the name says, you can bet 365 days a year. As a result, you can expect to deal with customer service agents every day all 24 hours of the day.
