The New York Yankees have largely been able to keep pace with the Boston Red Sox for first place in the American East over the past couple of weeks, which has had to do in most part with the fact that they have played two of the league’s worst teams in the Seattle Mariners and Baltimore Orioles in consecutive series’. The Yankees will look to capitalize on their weekend sports betting series against the AL East basement dwellers, including wrapping up the three-game set on Sunday in front of the hometown fans at Yankees’ Stadium.

Sunday’s matinee game will feature New York’s Freddy Garcia against Jake Arrieta for Baltimore, and it should be a pretty good battle with the spotlight on the veteran pitcher who has kept his stuff together for most of this season. Garcia is still prone to have lapses at different points, but for the most part the 35-year old has kept it together while climbing to 9-7 with a 3.23 ERA. The Orioles haven’t had nearly as much success with their staff this <MLB betting season, although Arrieta has managed to get to 10 wins despite an awful 5.12 ERA. The 25-year old hasn’t allowed less than three earned runs in a start since early June, and could be in trouble if he struggles early against one of the most talented lineups in the league.
